——
Award-winning Louisiana filmmaker Zack Godshall is holding open casting calls in Lafayette, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge for his new film THE PREACHER AND THE SALESMAN. The film pits a country preacher against a traveling salesmen and a few precocious kids in a southern retelling of the Pied Piper legend.
Godshall is currently looking for Caucasian boys and girls, ages 10-14, for starring, featured, and extra roles. No acting experience necessary.
The characters are rough and tumble country kids who have grown up poor and unsupervised. They act very mature for their age. The more headstrong and confident the better.
Zack Godshall’s first two feature films (LOW AND BEHOLD and LORD BYRON) premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival and have won notoriety at film festivals around the world. You can learn more about him and his films at: zackgodshall.com
To register for an audition, email calponia@gmail.com or call 504-484-9565. Leave a detailed message with: your name, the child’s name, and when and where you would like to audition. Appointments are available every 20 minutes.

During LORD BYRON’s premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival, Matt Singer of IFC News reviewed the film, calling it: “A suspiciously fanciful tale full of coincidence and revelation.” See full review here.
LORD BYRON to be released
LORD BYRON will get an official release in 2012. The Sundance Institute will release the film on multiple online platforms, like Amazon, iTunes, Hulu, Youtube, and Netflix, as well as on their own new viewing platform. Details to follow.
GOD’S ARCHITECTS wins in the Ozarks
God’s Architects recently won the Audience Award at the Ozark Foothills Film Fest in Batesville, Arkansas. Thank you, Batesville. I was also fortunate enough to attend this fine festival last weekend (March 25-27), as was Shelby Ravellette. Along with hanging with Shelby and eating salami sandwiches at the Sturches, one of the highlights of the weekend was watching the restored version of Metropolis with a live musical accompaniment by the Alloy Orchestra. Something to behold indeed.
